Steve's Team Runs On!

In April 2009, Stephen's sister Beth completed her goal to run 10 marathons by Stephen's 10th anniversary and- with the help of friends- raised over $42,000 in the process!

At the 2010 Boston Marathon, Steve's Team was represented by
Denise Murphy (above): 4 hours, 24 minutes, 28 seconds
Peter Mason: 4 hours, 30 minutes, 6 seconds

Both ran as Steve's Team, and raised over $2,800 to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem, bringing Steve's Team
total fundraising efforts to $44,800

Steve's Team is…
an event in memory of Stephen M. O'Grady, the energetic and well loved Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem, killed by a drunken driver in 1999 at the age of 30.

Steve's Team is…
an effort by Stephens' sister Beth to complete 10 marathons by Stephen's 10th anniversary in 2009 (DONE!) and to continue the legacy with other local runners to raise funding for youth charities in Stephen's memory.

Steve's Team is…
the continuation of Stephen's legacy as a leader and coach, whose philosophy was "Together, as a team, we can accomplish great things."

Steve's Team is…
a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem (serving Salem and Peabody) and the Stephen M. O'Grady Scholarship Foundation.

Steve's Team is…
a 100% charitable event- no donated funds will be used to defray the costs of mailings, events or team gear. 100% of every donation will go to the causes it supports.
